Weatherization Assistance Program
The Weatherization Assistance Program provides home weatherization assistance to improve the quality of life for low-income families, particularly for the elderly, people with disabilities and children by improving the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety. The Weatherization Assistance Program for each of the state's 46 counties is coordinated through nine community action agencies.
General Program Requirements
Under US Department of Energy guidelines, you are eligible to receive Weatherization assistance if your income is at or below the 200% poverty rate as determined by the criteria established by the Office of Management and Budget. Preference is given to:
- People over 60 years of age
- Families with one or more members with a disability
- Families with children
